Privacy Policy

Last updated · April 2026

This policy explains what information felony (fakefelony.lol) collects, why we collect it, and what we do with it. We try to keep the data we hold small and the policy short.

1. What we collect

  • Account data — username, email, hashed password, and anything you voluntarily add to your profile (bio, avatar, links).
  • Usage data — aggregated counts of profile views and link clicks, so you can see analytics. We do not store personally identifying visitor data alongside these events.
  • Session data — a signed JWT cookie used to keep you logged in, plus a short-lived CSRF check on mutating requests.
  • Diagnostic logs — IP address and user-agent for security and rate-limiting, retained for a short period then rotated out.

2. What we do not collect

  • No third-party advertising trackers.
  • No cross-site identifiers or fingerprinting.
  • No reading of the content of your messages on other platforms.

3. Why we use it

  • To operate the service and keep your account secure.
  • To show you analytics for your own profile.
  • To enforce our terms and investigate abuse reports.
  • To comply with legal obligations where required.

4. Sharing

We do not sell your data. We share it only with the infrastructure providers strictly necessary to run the service (hosting, database, email delivery) under a standard data processing agreement. We may disclose information when required by law, or when we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of felony, our users, or the public.

5. Cookies

We use a single first-party authentication cookie and a CSRF cookie. We do not set analytics or advertising cookies. Your browser can block cookies; some features of the service (notably logging in) will not work if cookies are disabled.

6. Retention

Account data is kept for as long as your account exists. When you delete your account we remove your profile and links immediately; backups containing residual data are rotated out within a reasonable window. Logs are retained briefly for operational and security reasons.

7. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data. You can do most of this directly from your dashboard. For anything else, contact us via the address on our Contact page.

8. Children

felony is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child has created an account, please report it via the contact page so we can remove it.

9. Changes

We may update this policy; material changes will be announced on the site. The “last updated” date at the top reflects the current version.
